David Edds

David Edds, Jr. is now serving as an Associate Advisor for Sperry Van Ness/The Barron Group.

Immediately prior to joining Sperry Van Ness, Edds brokered his own real estate firm, which specialized in property management and the sales/leasing of commercial and residential properties.

Edds is a native of Owensboro, Kentucky, where for many years he has been active in his church and a volunteer for many community organizations such as Junior Achievement, The United Way, Chamber of Commerce, Bar-B-Q Festival, Speedzeum, Waterfront Development, Owensboro Area Museum of Science and History, Leadership Owensboro, Owensboro Rotary Club and Chamber Young Professionals.

As Board Chairman of Downtown Owensboro, Inc., Edds led the "Lights, River, Action" project to light the downtown bridge in 1995. Chairing StreetScape 2000's board for many years, he led numerous community beautification projects, including the Adopt-A-Spots along Frederica Street.

Edds has been awarded the Mayor's Award for Excellence in Community Service, Leadership Owensboro's Outstanding Alumni, and Big Brother/Big Sister's Mentor of the Year. He has also received multiple marketing awards from the state of Kentucky for his work in tourism.

Edds holds a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting from Kentucky Wesleyan College. He began his career in public accounting. He then worked a decade as a corporate accountant, before transitioning into a State Governmental Affairs role, and then made the move to a real estate career.

Edds and his wife, Sandy, are the proud parents of twin boys.
